The Evo Spa Team

Victoria

Victoria has had a dedicated practice in bodywork since graduating from the 1,000 hour foundation training at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts, Santa Fe, in 1994. From that beginning, she has maintained, through the initial exam and continuing education requirements, her certification by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Her practice began in Washington D.C. at the Teal Center for Therapeutic Bodywork where she spent fourteen years and whose reputation was built on soft tissue rehabilitation for chronic pain and injury requiring certification in St. Johns Neuromuscular Therapy program. While Victoria's other trainings and experience allow her to meet clients' needs with a range of modalities and techniques (relaxation, sports, deep tissue, pregnancy massage), it is her neuromuscular skills - evaluative, treatment, and maintenance - that has yielded consistent results in pain relief, muscular re-education, and postural alignment. Two other significant trainings and certification have given Victoria skills in both Polarity and in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, which offer specialized approaches to address the deeper nervous system aspects driving soft tissue pain. In 2006 Victoria relocated to the Bay Area and brought this experience into the spa environment through which she has gained yet another level of awareness in the realm of health and wellness. The values that drive her bodywork practice in any setting is careful listening and an intention not to presume or impose but to pull from her experience that which best serves the client's needs
