The Evo Spa Team
I have been a licensed esthetician in the state of California since 1985 and a certified massage therapist since 1991.
As a teenager with genetic acne, I began my career in esthetics with a passion for treating acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and photo damaged skins. Naturally, I began working with a dermatologist right out of school. I continued to practice in salons, clinics and spa's with a focus on difficult to treat conditions. In that time I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to manage a team of estheticians in a busy spa in Berkeley, CA.
Once I understood that stress, poor nutrition and environmental factors as being a major factor in controlling many other conditions, I became a Certified Massage Therapist in 1991. I then began incorporating massage therapy as part of my esthetic practice which included Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Energy Work, Swedish, Reflexology, and Pressure Point Massage.
Through management I developed a passion for training and education. And so, in 1996 I obtained a certification for human resources management and development with an emphasis on diversity training from San Francisco State University.
It was at this point that I began combining my love for therapy and education.
I completed the decade of the 90's and early 2000's as the Educational Training Coordinator and Instructor for Images of Success in Oakland CA.
In 2002 I joined the International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica as a trainer. I went on to become Corporate Trainer and then Regional Corporate Manager of all three International Dermal Institute schools in Northern California Here I traveled extensively through out the U.S. and eventually internationally. Training subjects
from anatomy and physiology, skin diseases and disorders, hormones and aging, stress therapy, reflexology, cosmetic chemistry, lymphatic drainage, aromatherapy, massage techniques, sun damage, pigmentation, business strategies and marketing.
In 2006 I formed my own consulting and curriculum development company, where I continued training and customizing presentations and advanced classes for many post graduate and undergraduate schools nation wide. This curriculum expanded to cover, sanitation and disinfection, physiology and histology, electrical modalities, and nutrition.
Since 2006 I have continued to educate and train for undergraduate programs in Northern California and through out the U.S. while practicing aesthetics, and massage techniques at a prominent and nationally recognized wellness center, Sen Spa in San Francisco's Presidio.
I joined the team of outstanding educators and professionals with DemaQuest Skin Therapy. as a National Educator where I trained in all aspects of aesthetics and wrote protocols on chemical peels, created international power point presentations and webinars on treatment and home care regimes, cosmetic chemistry, and advanced skin analysis to name a few. As the lead educator I worked closely with the companies cosmetic laboratory to develop new professional and retail products.
I Joined St. Pierre Center for Massage and Spa in Napa, CA. with a dynamic team of massage and esthetic professionals, helping people achieve their personal best in skin care and wellness.
Currently I split my time practicing my love of aesthetics at a medical spa in the Northbay, and as part of an amazing team of aestheticians and massage therapist at Evo Spa in Millvalley California.
In addition, I am currently studying traditional and alternative nutrition to enhance therapeutic results for my clients and to continue my educational journey.
